Mike is a practicing financial planner professional; President of CEI Financial Planning, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor. In the mid-nineties Mike served as Chairman and President of the Georgia Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP). Mike is knowledgeable in securities, real estate, insurance, income taxes, estate planning and retirement planning.
Mike's expertise in various financial planning and investment matters has long been recognized by often being quoted in articles published in "The Atlanta Journal", the Institute of Certified Financial Planner's "Journal of Financial Planning", the CPA's "Practical Accountant" and the International Association of Financial Planning's "Planning Matters".
Mike has developed a broad knowledge of insurance issues by helping financial planners from all over the country deal with their personal insurance concerns. Mike is a licensed insurance agent in Georgia and Florida for long term care, life, disability, Medicare and health insurance. Mike has developed, owned and managed numerous rental properties in the Atlanta Area. In the eighties, Mike served as Managing Partner responsible for construction and leasing a 120-unit apartment complex, and as Chief Financial Officer of a company which developed and built over 440 townhouses.
Mike co-founded Investor's Trust Bank in 1984 and served as a bank Director until 1986.
In 2004, Mike was a candidate for the State House of Representatives in the mega-district including Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Buckhead and part of DeKalb County. Mike wanted to fix the problems in Georgia's health care system, which caused thousands of people to live without health insurance.
Mike was employed by the IBM Corporation from 1967 until 1988. His last position was "Consulting Level Finance Industry National Marketing Representative".
Mike is a graduate of The Georgia Institute of Technology and has served as Alumni Financial Advisor for the IOTA chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
Mike has been married to his wife, Judy, for over 50 years, has two grown daughters, Michelle and Christine, and enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren. |
